Women beauty and lifestyle

The opportunities provided by money and exposure to the media worldwide have brought many changes in the lifestyle of women in India over the past few millennium. In modern India, women have adorned high offices in India including that of president, speaker and prime minister. Five women from the epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata, have played such crucial roles in our tradition that every Indian woman, even in this modern age, continues to be influenced by their life. These women are Sita, the heroine of Ramayana and wife of king Ram of Ayodhya; Draupadi, wife of the five pandavas; Mandodari, wife of king Ravana; Ahilya, the wife of sage Gautama and Tara; wife of Bali.
Sari, which is a single piece of long cloth worn around the body and salwar kameez are commonly worn by women all over India. Bindi is a part of women’s make-up. Though the female literacy rate is slightly lower than male literacy rate, it has gradually increased over the past few decades.
